After their overwhelming defeat this past election their has been much talk of whats next for the party. New leaders in the senate and DNC are needed, so for the senate the democrats naturally chose somenone from their party considered concervative. Wait a minute is that really the face of the Party? As for the new DNC chairman its rummored to be either Howard Dean or John Edwards. Wait a minute didn't both of these people loose the parties presidential ticket? As is seen the article Democratic Party In The 21st Century[/I We really are sinking back to our older leader instead of the newer younger faces. (With esception to Edwards and Obama) Will the Democrats close the gap or just fade out. After all we've been around for at least 176 years. Is it time we change our party?

Before your party starts playing the race card, you'd do well to remember the shameful attitudes and racial slurs that have been directed at Colin Powell and Condoleeza Rice lately. They have repeatedly been referred to as 'house niggers." Guess you guys want one of your own now, hmm?

I don't remember ever using those terms to describe her or him. In fact it is my belief that Colin Powell is the only one on the previous Bush Cabinet with a head on his shoulders. Cartoonists are not the face of our party. That would be like me saying that FOX anchors or Anne Coulter are the face of the Republicans.
i.e. some of what Michael Moore says in F9/11

Michael Moore is not the face of our party. As for many "humerous" remarks coming from Concervitive leaders, they are not funny.

SIncerely,

Oh really? I guess you missed Moore sitting in the VIP box with Pres.Carter. If that isn't the Democratic Party condoning his actions than what was it? The truth is that Michael Moore IS the face of your Party or at least of Liberals in general. I still wonder how much money he's given to help the soldier's families or the Iraqis that he exploited in his film. Or the people in Flint, MI? Or the people in Columbine?

Follow-up on P21 vs. Ted Rall
I've appeared on a number of radio talk-shows discussing the Project 21 press release from earlier this week. The release condemns an early July political cartoon by Ted Rall, a cartoonist syndicated by Universal Press Syndicate.

A letter went out from Project 21, with my signature on it on Monday of this week, asking that they reconsider Rall's standing with them, in light of his cartoon, which depicted National Security Director Condoleezza Rice being referred to as a "house n-----."
Also on Monday, letters were sent to the NAACP, the National Association of Black Journalists, and the PUSH/Rainbow Coalition, asking that they take a look at the case, especially in light of their participation in going after commentator Rush Limbaugh last fall, after comments that disparaged Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb. After all, they have stated that they would be interested in righting wrongs where they exist in terms of black individuals.

Michael Moore may be a bit over the top, but you just don't like him because he has different views than you. Thats the way I see it. However as to this rediculous claim he is the face of our party grow up. He has no acknowledged position of power with our party. All because we think he may well be right doesn't automatically make him the face of our party.

I don't remember ever using those terms to describe her or him.

As I said before I don't remember ever making those comments. Ted Rall my have made them, but not Democrats in general.

(CNN) -- Jon Corzine, the multimillionaire investment banker turned U.S. senator, plans to run for governor of New Jersey.

Corzine, 57, serving his first term in the Senate, has informed Democratic party officials that he will enter the 2005 race, according to those officials. He is expected to announce his intentions at a news conference scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday in Newark.

The senator has spent the early part of the week telling party officials, including the chairs of New Jersey's 21 county party organizations, of his plans.

As a candidate for governor, Corzine would keep his seat in the Senate, said Steve Adamske, a Corzine spokesman.

Elected in 2000 after spending $62 million of his personal fortune in his first run for office, Corzine would become the front-runner to win the Democratic nomination and the race next November.

A statewide Quinnipiac University poll published two weeks ago found Corzine widely favored over aspiring Republicans and a leading Democratic contender, acting Gov. Richard Codey, who succeeded Jim McGreevey after he resigned in the wake of an extramarital affair with a man.

Codey has said he won't decide whether to enter the race until after his State of the State address next month.

Republicans likely to enter the race include former Jersey City Mayor Bret Schundler, whom McGreevey defeated in 2001, and Doug Forrester, a businessman who lost the 2002 U.S. Senate race to Frank Lautenberg.

Corzine, an Illinois farm boy who became the chairman of Goldman Sachs & Co. on Wall Street, served his party as the chairman of the Democratic Senate Campaign Committee in 2004.

I agree. They are not funny, and they are in very bad taste. Downright offensive.

Perhaps "face" is a bit too much, but surely there must be some implication that the Democrats either endorse, support, or condone the works of Michael Moore to let him sit where he sat in the presidential election.

As for the "humorous" remarks by conservative leaders, can you give some examples and were they truly intended to be humorous or were they, like Michael Moore's comments in F9/11, only called "jokes" after they were proven to be wrong and ridiculous?

That I must say I do agree with.

How about the time he had that picture of him and his staff all lying around going where are the WMD in a comical way at his fundraiser even though some 1000 Americans had died looking for them.
